Content Development: Puppy PrOn vs. Powerpoint – Puppy wins!

Puppy vs. Powerpoint - Puppy Wins!
There’s a product making the rounds in the Internet Marketing circle right now that shows people how to convert articles into videos. The premise is that you take your niche article and turn the subject matter into a powerpoint presentation, which allows you to further leverage that content by uploading the presentation as a Youtube video. Of course, you also keyword stuff the video title and description on Youtube while conveniently adding a link to your site.
In theory it’s a great idea. The only problem is, most people are making really crappy powerpoint videos that reflect the quality of their articles.
Have you ever tried to suffer through even the best powerpoint videos? Yeah.
So there was a forum thread on one of the more popular internet marketing forums where a guy was asking how he could make his videos more compelling to get more views and more clicks on the link in his video descriptions. The articles he was converting into videos were about training dogs or puppies. So I replied in the thread with some advice and also embedded a video of a cute animal. The video had gotten over 6 million views in about 6 weeks. My suggestion was that instead of limiting himself to powerpoint presentations of how to train animals, he should make a handful of funny, cute or otherwise entertaining videos of animals doing things he had trained them to do.
The thread went on with several replies after mine, but it was as if my reply didn’t exist.
So I ask you: Which of the following videos do you think would get more views on Youtube?
Skateboarding dog…
Or this powerpoint presentation…
Hint… the first video above has 9.7 million views over 2 years. The second has less than 15,000 views in one year.
